Chicken Waldorf Salad-Best food blog
First Time when i heard of Chicken Waldorf Salad was in my teenage. In our homeschool Circle tea parties were in vogue, so every time we were eager to lookout for new tea-ish recipes. I don’t remember my sister or a friend was first who made Waldorf salad for a tea party, but I do remember that we girls liked it, and some of the boys hated it. It’s a polarizing dish, obviously!
Step 1:There are many different variations of this salad, but I only included my favorite ingredients: apple, lemon, celery, pecans, chicken, and grapes. Some people like adding onions in it , but onions give me a ache in my stomach, and let me just say that raisins and me have a complicated relationship (I disliked them since I was a child). Walnuts are more traditional than pecans, but 8 times out of 9, I prefer pecans. Walnuts are perfect to have with banana bread and brownies, but pecans are better to have in salads in my opinion.
Step 3: Just throw all of the ingredients into a big bowl (mine should have been bigger)
Step 4: And stir it all together! Taste and add salt and pepper if needed. Depending how salty is your mayo and how aggressively the chicken was seasoned, you might not need any salt.
